"My layered-slide images result in ambiguities of form that are frequently bizarre and disquieting, apprehended on a psychological rather than a rational level. "I currently am expressing myself through photomontage using combinations of widely disparate images. Within a single framework or 'space' they create a new reality, one that is intuited by me during its composition and interpreted according to each viewers experience and psyche.� Marian Steinert received her B.A. from Hood College and her M.A. from Kent State University. She has studied at the Rochester Institute of Technology (School of American Craftsmen) and Savannah College of Art and Design. Ms. Steinert has taught at Kent State University and the University of Akron, and recently retired from a career teaching visual art in the Akron Public Schools. |
